Jamaican born director Young Chang’s work runs the gamut from glitz and glamour to grim and gritty with his unique life experiences influencing his creativity in every frame. The baby-faced Young Chang’s name honors his mother’s Asian heritage, a storied past of emigration to Jamaica from China. Being raised in the melting pot of South Florida, Young Chang was easily able to interact with all walks of life, learning and growing creatively with every encounter. 

 

After graduating film school, Young cut his teeth as a PA, continuing his studies on set, ultimately choosing the AD department to focus. Working for some of the top directors in music and commercials, he expanded his knowledge base beyond his schooling, with his meticulous work ethic, attention to detail, and cool head under pressure keeping him booked and busy. He has been able to deftly explore new ways of bringing visions to life, translating products and artists from conversations to the screen.  The auteur applied these lessons shooting and directing his own projects, stretching himself artistically. 

 

As a director, Young has completed a variety of projects in Jamaica, Africa and the US from short films, commercials and a number of celebrated music videos. His fearlessness, fresh perspective, and dedication to the art of storytelling make him an invaluable part of every project he’s on, and a trusted source for expressing a client’s vision.
